Abstract
Amidst the midsummer heat, the passion for knowledge remained undiminished as faculty and students from prestigious universities embarked on an insightful corporate visit. From July 1 to July 2, over 140 students and faculty members from Jishou University's School of Pharmacy and 65 from Central South University's School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering visited Jiudian Pharmaceutical and its subsidiary Jiudian Hongyang. This industry-academia exchange not only provided participants with a firsthand look into pharmaceutical operations but also laid a solid foundation for collaborative talent development and research partnerships.
In the morning, the Jishou University delegation was warmly received by Mr. Wang , Administrative Director of Jiudian Hongyang, Mr. Cao, Deputy Director of HR, and Mr. Long from HR. Under the guidance of Mr. Wu, QC Laboratory Director, and Mr. Zhou, Workshop Director, the group toured the QC lab and production facilities. Director Wu detailed the lab's advanced instruments, testing protocols, and quality management systems, while Director Zhou demonstrated modern production lines, offering vivid explanations of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Students remarked that the visit bridged classroom theory with real-world applications, deepening their industry understanding.
That afternoon, pharmaceutical engineering students from Central South University, accompanied by leaders from Tongguan Industrial Park's Talent Center, visited Jiudian Hongyang. Post-tour discussions highlighted the company's growth trajectory and talent development strategies. Director Wang emphasized the evolving role of production positions amid industry digitalization and specialization, encouraging students to embrace API production as a career path. Deputy Director Cao outlined recruitment opportunities and benefits, extending a warm welcome to chemistry graduates.
The following afternoon, Ms. Xiao, CSU's Youth League Committee Secretary, and Ms. Bai, Student Affairs Director, led 16 chemistry undergraduates to Jiudian's headquarters for a research tour and the signing of a "Industry-Academia Excellence" internship base agreement. Director Wang showcased cutting-edge labs at Jiudian Drug Research Institute, impressing attendees with state-of-the-art equipment and a vibrant R&D atmosphere. A lively Q&A session covered drug development, EHS practices, and smart manufacturing. The event culminated in the agreement signing and an official plaque ceremony, marking a new chapter in collaborative education.
This initiative aligns with national policies to enhance student engagement through practical learning. By exposing students to industry realities, the program underscores the synergy between academic knowledge and industrial practice. Moving forward, Jiudian will expand such partnerships, leveraging its resources to create integrated platforms for hands-on training, research innovation, and career growth—cultivating versatile talents to propel China's pharmaceutical industry forward.
