The Hunan Engineering Research Center for Novel Gel Patches was officially approved and established by the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission in 2013. It is an innovative platform relying on Hunan Jiudian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. as the main body, jointly established with Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and Hunan Pudao Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. The center focuses on the research of key common technologies, achievement transformation, and industrialization of transdermal patches, aiming to develop safe, efficient, and new transdermal patches with independent intellectual property rights, filling the gap in the research of transdermal patches in Hunan's pharmaceutical industry and significantly improving the technical development level of transdermal patches in the province. Loxoprofen Sodium Gel Patch is the first domestic generic and exclusive dosage form independently researched and developed by the engineering research and development center, drawing on advanced foreign gel patch preparation technology. After the drug was launched, it received unanimous recognition from patients and was affirmed by relevant experts, enjoying a good market background. Meanwhile, the center has also applied for Ketoprofen and Indomethacin Gel Patches (deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation) under the new drug registration classification. The products under research include three improved new drugs and the upgraded product of Loxoprofen Sodium Gel Patch, Loxoprofen Sodium Patch. The development of a series of competitive transdermal patches has significantly improved the competitiveness of Hunan's pharmaceutical enterprises in the domestic market, thereby promoting the rapid development of the transdermal patch industry in Hunan Province.
